Founders - Martha and David Martha Musonza Holman is the powerhouse behind the company, which she started in 2001. Apart from trading unique African arts and crafts in the UK which are ethically sourced, she actively works with communities in Zimbabwe to create the facilities for them to continually produce these products. There are also training opportunities for young people, offering them a legitimate trade to support themselves for the future.
Over a number of years, Martha has started projects in various communities and David, her partner, has joined her. David and Martha married in January 2007 in Zimbabwe and are based in Wales, UK.

Love Zimbabwe started out in Nyatana in 2001 as Dandarocyclch (circle circle). Martha Musonza met Samara Hawthorn from Wales, who was in Zimbabwe to celebrate the solar eclipse.
Martha was a Geography teacher at the time, but her wage could not support her and her two children. She sold Samara some batik cloths she had made alongside the people from Marondera village, where Martha was helping them establish a women’s co-operative. She taught them how to design and make these fabrics. This was the first community project started by Martha, and it is still flourishing today. They now sell their wares to other organizations as well as Love Zimbabwe.
Samara invited Martha to come to Wales to set up a small trading business, bringing to the UK other arts and crafts sourced from more community based projects in different parts of Zimbabwe. Six years on, Love Zimbabwe is working with numerous projects, empowering many different people in areas all over Zimbabwe.
